I hear from people all the time that they barely get any engagement on Facebook (“engagement” meaning likes, clicks, comments, shares, views.)
But the truth is, it’s all a numbers game. And in my opinion, not enough solopreneurs take a deep look at their numbers.
Livestream video is so, so powerful and very hot right now. People love watching videos and Facebook loves showing videos in their newsfeeds. We get decent engagement on Facebook but when I do a Facebook Live, our engagement skyrockets.
When I suggest doing a Facebook Live to someone who has never done one, most of the time they say they’re scared or confused. That is what has stopped them from doing one before. I think a big reason is because it’s a giant unknown thing. They don’t know what to expect.
I don’t have to tell you that if you want to have any sort of valuable online presence, you need to be creating content. If you’re here, you already know that.
But you might be stuck on what to create. You might be paralyzed by either having so many things to talk about and/or not know what the hell to talk about.
“Tara, I want to be on social media, but ughhh, it takes so much time!”
This is one of the most common complaints I hear about social media and one of the biggest excuses solopreneurs make to not be on social media. In the same breath, I hear them express that they understand how powerful social media can be and really want those results for themselves.
2018 is coming up quickly so naturally, we’re all doing business planning. I’ve decided that the theme for my first quarter is Visibility.
I’ve already gotten a head-start with that with the challenge I’m in: showing up on Facebook live every day for 100 days. And I have to say, it has been pretty transformational.
